Plastic Wrap - Aftercare

  • Remove wrap after 1-2hrs

  • Wash well, with warm water and unscented soap (something like dove)

  • Pat dry with paper towel or a freshly laundered towel (repeat this a few times a day in the first week or so)

  • A couple days in it will start to feel tight, dry, maybe a bit itchy, that's when you will start to use an unscented moisturizer. (something like Aveeno usually works well)

  • Wash the tattoo first, pat dry and once you are 100% sure it is dry apply a super thin layer of moisturizer/tattoo specific aftercare product. (Nothing for extra dry skin or with petroleum jelly in it)

  • Do not submerge in water for 3-4 weeks (no baths, swimming, hot tubs etc...)

  • Showers are totally fine, definitely continue to shower

  • Keep covered from the sun in the first 3-4 weeks, once healed always wear sunscreen to help preserve the tattoo

  • Try to avoid working out for the first week.

  • If you get sweaty and/or dirty, wash immediately after, even if you only have access to scented soap (don't wait until you get home to use your soap)

  • If you have pets, keep the tattoo covered with a loose layer and change your sheets if they typically sleep in your bed

  • Do not wrap your tattoo with anything after the initial wrap has been removed. If you are going to be doing something where it might get dirty/sweaty, cover it with a loose layer of clean clothing.

  • ABSOLUTELY DO NOT PICK AT YOUR TATTOO

Adhesive Bandage -Aftercare

  • Wash well, with warm water and unscented soap (something like dove)

  • Pat dry with paper towel or a freshly laundered towel. Apply new adhesive bandage, to be left on for 3-4 days max

  • However if fluid build up in minimal, you may leave the bandage on for up to 3-4 days max

       Proper Removal of Bandage:

  • Remove bandage in the shower, after letting the warm water run on it for a bit (should help loosen the adhesive)

  • Do not peel the bandage back, instead grab the bottom corner and pull down and out (like a command strip)

  • Wash well, with warm water and unscented soap (something like dove)

  • Pat dry with paper towel or a freshly laundered towel (repeat this a few times a day in the first week or so)

  • The next day your can start to use an unscented moisturizer. (something like Aveeno usually works well)

  • Wash the tattoo first, pat dry and once you are 100% sure it is dry apply a super thin layer of moisturizer/tattoo specific aftercare product. (Nothing for extra dry skin or with petroleum jelly in it)

On average it takes 2-3 weeks for the tattoo to heal. A full month for it to look settled. Everyone is different, this is just a general guide.

If you are unsure or concerned about something please do not hesitate to ask!

Even if it turns out to be nothing, I promise I will be happy you asked : )
